"'Banned in Boston' is a phrase that was employed from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, to describe a literary work, song, motion picture, or play which had been prohibited from distribution or exhibition in Boston, Massachusetts...Commercial distributors were often pleased when their works were banned in Boston—it gave them more appeal elsewhere."
The modern equivalent is "Banned by Facebook."
I'm in the habit of sharing my blog posts on Facebook, or at least links to my blog posts. Most of the time Facebook allows me to do this without objection. But every once in a while Facebook declares my link to be "spam" and deletes my post from Facebook itself. There seems to be nothing in my blog posts that fit Facebook's explanations, but whatever. Facebook's site, Facebook's whims.
Source: Facebook.
Here, for the record, is a list of such posts that Facebook has banned, starting January 9, 2025. I'll update this post as needed as time goes on. Maybe readers can come up with reasonable explanations for how I violated Facebook's rules.
To ensure you see all my posts, you can bookmark my blog and read it regularly. Or you can subscribe by email or RSS and automatically receive every new blog post in your email inbox or RSS reader. Or you can join Bluesky (like Twitter/X, only good) and see links to all my blog posts there. In the meantime, I remain...Banned in Boston.
