2024-11-02: The Lincoln Project asks, "Other than Trump, which Republicans do you REALLY want to lose this November?"
That question drew 3.5K comments.
2024-11-04: This is Texas District 112, represented by Angie Chen Button. To keep her Dallas County district packed with as many reliable GOP voters as the GOP legislature in Austin can find, Angie Chen Button is backed up against the wall (Collin County to the north, Rockwall and Kaufman Counties to the east). She is cornered. This is what they mean by politicians choosing their voters instead of voters choosing their representatives.
2024-11-04: The biggest problem with the US Constitution is due to the Founding Fathers not respecting democratic elections.
2024-11-04: "Moldova's pro-European Union incumbent President Maia Sandu won a tense presidential runoff election Sunday, beating a rival backed by a pro-Russian party in what she called as a 'lesson in democracy.'
'Today, dear Moldovans, you have given a lesson in democracy, worthy of being written in history books.... Freedom, truth, and justice have prevailed," Sandu declared.'"
Let's hope Americans can say the same thing on November 5.

2024-11-07: Democrats championed women, Blacks, Brown people, Asians, LGBTQ, disabled people, poor people, immigrants, Palestinians, children, unions, and trans people. Their tent grew bigger. Eventually, they were done in by diminishing returns. Each new group they brought into the tent had fewer people than the number of people who left the tent because they didn't like the new people.
2024-11-07: Just so you know, after the Civil War, Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederacy, was captured and charged with treason, though he was never tried. He was eventually freed and spent the rest of his life in the South, where he remained a prominent figure advocating for the "Lost Cause" of the Confederacy. Justice is damned hard to administer to traitors. IJS.
2024-11-07: I just canceled my Washington Post subscription. "Democracy Dies in Darkness" my foot. Jeff Bezos has been gaslighting us. The Washington Post has abrogated its role in making sure that there is light.
2024-11-09: Now that the Republicans control all levers of power in the federal government, we can expect their demand for states' rights to suddenly disappear. Dictates from Washington will be the 2025 fashion.
2024-11-10: Jim Jordan: "This election was the greatest political comeback we've ever seen."
Well, maybe not. Nixon's win in 1968 was arguably bigger after Nixon's defeat in 1962 and pledge to the press, "You don't have Nixon to kick around any more, because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference." Biggest comeback and, later, biggest eventual collapse. Maybe something still to look forward to.
2024-11-14: Headline: "The Onion wins bidding for InfoWars assets."
How many people read that straight news headline and thought, Is that an Onion story?
2024-11-14: Headline: "Matt Gaetz: Trump's choice for attorney general shocks Washington."
Why? Maybe Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wasn't extreme enough for Trump.
2024-11-14: They can change who occupies the Oval Office, but they can never change eternal truths:
Black Lives Matter
Love Means Love
No Means No
My Body, My Choice
Give Peace a Chance
Save the Planet
2024-11-14: ‘Media Misses’ becomes ‘On-Target,’ promoting pro-democracy journalism." -- Steven Beschloss.
I guess "Media Misses" has so many candidates to cover that it is now in the category of "Dog Bites Man." Maybe "On-Target" will be unusual enough to catch people's attention, like "Man Bites Dog."

2024-11-16: Tariffs = Import Taxes.
Taxes paid by American companies importing foreign goods.
Just thought that needed saying...again.

Why are people oblivious to this contradiction?

You think?
2024-11-23: It's ironic that the first thing the GOP does to increase government efficiency is to create a new department in the Executive Branch and a new subcommittee in Congress. Nothing says efficient government as more of it.
2024-11-28: Despite the storm clouds gathering over America, there is still much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day. I am thankful for the 74 million Americans who voted against the storm.
2024-11-28: Headline: "Netanyahu pledges to enforce ceasefire."
Um, you mean enforce with gunfire?
2024-11-29: I like to read NextDoor posts as if the 2nd is a response to the 1st. For example:
1. "FYI - police notification just sent out. Road closed. Not sure what’s being investigated now."
2. "I believe I have squirrels running around in the attic 🐿️. I have no idea where they would be getting in from."
2024-11-30: Explain Republican women to me.
2024-11-30: Headline: "Trump is selling bibles, sneakers & guitars. Could he get in trouble?"
Are you kidding? He incited an insurrection against the United States and didn't get into trouble. John Adams famously called a republic “a government of laws, not of men.” John Adams never met Donald Trump.
