Today's photo-of-the-day is from Chile's Torres del Paine National Park (Towers of Blue). The park "encompasses mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers in southern Chilean Patagonia." From a distance of 20 miles we got our first, and least obstructed, view of the Cuernos del Paine (Horns of Blue).

After an hour's hike (on which I suffered a minor injury to my knee that took six months to heal, and of course I'm still not back to where I was at age fifty), we had our closest view of the horns from about 3 miles. Or partial view, as the mountains were consistently blocked from view by clouds.
