The Glorious Fourth

From 2015 07 04 Breckinridge Park
It was our first trip back to Breckinridge Park since 2012 for Richardson's "Family 4th Celebration" and it was even bigger and better than the last time. The fireworks were preceded by a patriotic concert by the always entertaining Richardson Community Band. We sat right down by the lake for the closest and best view of the fireworks, including the reflections in the water.

All of our photos from the fireworks show can be seen on Google Photos.

We took the bus from the shuttle parking lot at Renner and Shiloh to Breckinridge Park. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. After the fireworks, when the crowds queued for the return trip, everything was orderly. The city had plenty of buses shuttling back and forth, so there were always four buses loading simultaneously. We were near the back of the queue (remember I said we were closest to the fireworks, meaning we were farthest from the buses) and it took us 90 minutes from the end of the fireworks to when we were back at our house. Some might consider that long but I didn't see a single fussy child...or adult. I guess the show was a hit.
